How to Configure Networking For Windows XP and Vista

Click Start> ControlPanel> Networkand SharingCenter> Manage NetworkConnections > RightClikc> Properties> Highlights "TCP/IPv4"> Properties

For example:

IP Address: 192.168.1.100
SubnetMask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS 1:192.168.1.1
DNS 2: 8.8.8.8

After finish configure it, view your configuration in Command Line Interface :

Click Start > Run > Type: CMD > Type: ipconfig/ all. there is two active ip address. The first ip address is dynamic configuration from DHCP server that me use, and the second ip address is static ip addres that we configure manually. After that you can ping ip address that connect to the network. type in CMD : ping 192.168.1.100. if reply, its mean the configure is success...good luck.
